"Mambo No.5" Perez Prado

Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting my blog. The song that I choose this week 5 is a song name MAMBO No.5 by Perez Prado. Perez Prado is a man from Cuba. He was born in December 11, 1916, in Cuba and he pass away in September 14, 1989, Mexico. Perez Prado is a pianist, song writer, and bandleader in 1940s. Perez Prado's band become famous and success because of the Mambo No.5. This Mambo No.5 is a song that is mixed with jazz dance song and mambo. The song Mambo No.5 was composed by Perez Prado in 1949. This song is a song that is for dancing so when I first heard this song it was really exciting and fun. I understood at once why this song became famous and also why it made Perez Prado and his band famous. The trumpet sound and lot of instrument sound was perfectly making people to dance and get involved with the song. Mambo No.5 has it's own attraction. Listening to this song, I thought the dancers must have been really excited at the time. I really enjoyed listening to this music and I really recommend you to listen to this exciting music. One O'Clock Jump

Hi everyone today I post my blog about a song name One O'Clock Jump by Count Basie. Count Basie was born in August 21, 1904, New Jersey and he passed away in April 26, 1984, Florida. Count Basie was jazz pianist, song writer and the band leader. And today's music is one of his best jazz standard music. The music name One O'Clock Jump is written by Count Basie. Count Basie One O'Clock Jump was released in 1937 and the genre of this song is jazz. So this music is one of jazz standard music.  This song used a trumpet, saxophone, drum, and other instrument that are used in the normal jazz band music. However they have created the song that was exciting. I think while listening to this music the song was making me smile like Count Basie in the picture up ahead. While I was listening this song the sound of the trumpet and saxophone was making a sound that people can enjoy and have fun. So I really liked it during the time. I highly recommend to listen to this music.

Hello everyone, my name is Nam Hyouk Cho and today I listen to a music name "I Got Rhythm" by George Gershwin. George Gershwin was born in September 26, 1898, Brooklyn, New York and died July 11, 1937. George Gershwin was an pianist and a famous composer in America. The song that he made was spanned popular and classical genres. The song "I Got Rhythm"s accompaniment was by George Gershwin and the lyric was made by Ira Gershwin in 1930. Also, this song became a jazz standard song. While I was listening to this music the song was little bit calm and exciting. The song made me  excited and the more I listened, the song was better. When I closed my eyes while listening to this song, I thought that I was running in a wide field because of the exciting song. I spent a great time while listening to this music because I was excited during the assignment.

"Maple Leaf Rag" Scott Joplin

Hi everyone today I want to introduce a song name "Maple Leaf Rag" made by Scott Joplin. Scott Joplin is a song writer and a pianist. He was born in November 24, 1868 and he died on April 1, 1917. Scott Joplin wrote a lot of song that are famous and one of the song is "Maple Leaf Rag". 

"Maple Leaf Rag", written by Scott Joplin, is an early ragtime music. The song was one of Scott Joplin's early works and became a standard model for ragtime composition by subsequent song writers. Perhaps that is why the song is one of the most famous of all ragtime.  

When I was in Korea, I heard some friends playing the piano playing this song. At that time I thought this was just a song that is made for a practice. Although now I know that this is the best ragtime song in the world and who made this exciting song.I appreciate this opportunity to learn these good songs and I except to learn many different american music in this class.

Korean Singer Ben

About Singer name Ben

Hello! My name is Nam Hyouk Cho and I'm from South Korea. This year is my first year of SUU. I'm so excited to study here. Nice to meet you all. In my free time I usually hang out with friend's or play sports like soccer or etc. Also I listen to music and I like a lot of genre. So it is little bit complicate to introduce all of the singer and genre. So I want to introduce one of my favorite singer in Korea. Her name is Ben.  

Ben is a singer in South Korea. Ben debut at 2010 and first she start a singing career by a group name Bebe Mignon. Although this group break up at 2011 and Ben started to work as a solo singer. She makes lot of song for dramas ost song and compose a ballad and perform it. Ben is not as other K-pop girl singer. She is way shorter than other women singers and when she debut she was not popular. Although she worked hard and concentrated on her song. So now she is one of the most popular ballad singer in South Korea.
