Hello, my name is Nam and for the last blog I have prepared a song name "What's my Name" by Snopp Dogg. Before I start to introduce about the song "What's my name", I want to introduce Snopp Dogg first. Snopp Dogg is a american rapper. He was born in October 20,1971 in United States. His song genres are hip hop, funk, gangsta rap, and reggae. He has a lot of good songs and he does a lot of featuring a lot of famous singers song. He has sold his album over 23 million so, we can say that his the one of the famous rapper in U.S. Now I want to introduce a song "What's My Name". "What's My Name" was released in October 30, 1993 and the song's genre is G-funk and gangsta rap. The songwriter of this song are Calvin Broadus and Andre Young and the singer is Snopp Dogg. This song was the first top 10 song that hit of Snoop Dogg ont the Billboard Hot 100. This song is good to listen. However, I was not my style. But I recommend you guys to listen once.

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my blog this week. Today I am going to write a song about one of the most famous song of Michael Jackson. The songs name is "Thriller". "Thriller" is in sixth album when he was single singer. However, I want to start with introducing Michael Jackson. His real name is Michael Joseph Jackson and he was a singer, composer, and dancer. He was born in August 29, 1958 and died in June 25, 2009. He was the most greatest entertainers in the 20th music history. "Thriller" was released in December 2, 1983. and this song was almost a legend because the music was sold almost 9 million units. The song's music video was little bit different with other normal music video. The reason is because the official video of "Thriller" is a short 13 min movie style. So, the official video was way more fun and unique than others. 

When I first heard this song when I was young it was very awesome music and it is still a great music. I think Michael Jackson is not only a legend singer in United State of America. Michael Jackson is a legend singer, composer, and an awesome dancer for the whole world until now. I really enjoyed listening to this music and watching a official video from YouTube.

Hello everyone, today I want to introduce about a song name "I shot the Sheriff" covered by Eric Clapton. Before I start I want to introduce about Eric Clapton. His full name is Eric Patrick Clapton and he was born in 30 March, 1945. He is a Musician, singer, composer, and record producer. When he first started his career he started with a band but in 1970's he started his solo career that was influence by reggae of Bob Marley. So he covered one of Bob Marley's song and the song that was covered was "I Shot the Sheriff". So the song name "I Shot the Sheriff" is not a song that was made by Eric Clapton. "I shot the Sheriff" was made by Bob Marley who was an Jamaican singer, consumer composer, and musician. First this song was released by Bob Marley in 1973 in album name "Live!". However Eric Clapton covered this song in 1974 and put it on his album name 461 Ocean Boulevard. By covering this song Eric Clapton could earn the award in Grammy. This song's genres are reggae, soft rock, and pop. While I listen to this song it was little bit weird but when I keep listen to this song, the song was quite awesome. I really recommend this song.

Hello everyone, today I want to tell you guys about the song name "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder. First of all I want to start with introducing a Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder's real name is Stevland Hardaway Morris and his stage name is the one we know, Stevie Wonder. He was born in May 13, 1950 and he is a singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is on of the most outstanding songwriters and singer in the history of music. He started his singer life in 1961 and he is singing until now. 

Now I want to introduce about the song name "Superstition". As I said this song was written by Stevie Wonder's and sang by him. Also, this song is in the album name "Talking Book" by Tamla. This song was released in October 24, 1972 and the genre is R&B and Soul. By singing this song Stevie wonder earn lot of awards and one of the award is Grammy award. 

While I was listening to this music I thought this song was good to listen. I liked the rhythm and the beats. I really enjoyed listening to this music.

His full name is James Joseph Brown and he was a singer, composer, musician, dancer, record producer, and bandleader. James Brown sang a funk music and a 20th century music. 

The song "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" was released in 1956 and the song's genre is soul, funk, and R&B music. This song is amazing because this song got Grammy awards. "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag" is in the album name "Please, Please, Please". This song was the first song of James Brown to reach the Billboard top 100. James Brown wrote this song and produced it all by him self. This song is funky and while I was listening I was excited. I think this song is the best song in Week 8 song.

Hello every today I am going to post about the song name "Good Vibrations" by The Beach Boys. First of all I will going to introduce about "The Beach Boys". The Beach Boys are the band that is playing american that is formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961.  The members of this original band are Carl Wilson, Dennis Wilson, David Marks, Ricky Fataar, and Blondie Chaplin. However current member is Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston and this group is started in 1961 and it is active in present. And the Good Vibrations is a song that is released on October 10, 1966. When this song was released the song was immediately critical and commercial hit. The genre of this song is psychedelic rock, art pop, acid rock, psychedelic pop, and R&B. When I first heard this song it was familiar because I listen this song on the movie and it was hotel

transylvania 3 and when I heard this song in the movie I thought it was really cool because the song had a special sound track different with others so I was really amazed. The rhythm of the song is so fun that I highly recommend to you guys.

Hello everyone, today I am going to post about a song name "La Bamba" by Ritchie Valens. But also "La Bamba" is film by Luis Valdez. Richard Steven Valenzuela, this is a real name of the Ritchie Valens. Ritchie Valens was a Mexican American and he was born in May 13, 1941 in Los Angeles and he passed out in February 3, 1959. Ritchie Valens was a singer, composer, and a great guitarist. The song 'La Bamba" is a kind of Mexican folk song and Ritchie Valens sang this song in rock & roll version.  When I heard this song it was a very fun and exciting song. Although I could not understand what the lyrics was saying but the energy and other thing was very exciting. I could see that in 1958 lot of people liked this song and because of the fame this song could be used in these days. I highly recommend to you guys.

Hello everyone! Thank you for visiting my blog. The song that I choose this week 5 is a song name MAMBO No.5 by Perez Prado. Perez Prado is a man from Cuba. He was born in December 11, 1916, in Cuba and he pass away in September 14, 1989, Mexico. Perez Prado is a pianist, song writer, and bandleader in 1940s. Perez Prado's band become famous and success because of the Mambo No.5. This Mambo No.5 is a song that is mixed with jazz dance song and mambo. The song Mambo No.5 was composed by Perez Prado in 1949. This song is a song that is for dancing so when I first heard this song it was really exciting and fun. I understood at once why this song became famous and also why it made Perez Prado and his band famous. The trumpet sound and lot of instrument sound was perfectly making people to dance and get involved with the song. Mambo No.5 has it's own attraction. Listening to this song, I thought the dancers must have been really excited at the time. I really enjoyed listening to this music and I really recommend you to listen to this exciting music. Hi everyone today I post my blog about a song name One O'Clock Jump by Count Basie. Count Basie was born in August 21, 1904, New Jersey and he passed away in April 26, 1984, Florida. Count Basie was jazz pianist, song writer and the band leader. And today's music is one of his best jazz standard music. The music name One O'Clock Jump is written by Count Basie. Count Basie One O'Clock Jump was released in 1937 and the genre of this song is jazz. So this music is one of jazz standard music.  This song used a trumpet, saxophone, drum, and other instrument that are used in the normal jazz band music. However they have created the song that was exciting. I think while listening to this music the song was making me smile like Count Basie in the picture up ahead. While I was listening this song the sound of the trumpet and saxophone was making a sound that people can enjoy and have fun. So I really liked it during the time. I highly recommend to listen to this music.

Hello everyone, my name is Nam Hyouk Cho and today I listen to a music name "I Got Rhythm" by George Gershwin. George Gershwin was born in September 26, 1898, Brooklyn, New York and died July 11, 1937. George Gershwin was an pianist and a famous composer in America. The song that he made was spanned popular and classical genres. The song "I Got Rhythm"s accompaniment was by George Gershwin and the lyric was made by Ira Gershwin in 1930. Also, this song became a jazz standard song. While I was listening to this music the song was little bit calm and exciting. The song made me  excited and the more I listened, the song was better. When I closed my eyes while listening to this song, I thought that I was running in a wide field because of the exciting song. I spent a great time while listening to this music because I was excited during the assignment.

Hi everyone today I want to introduce a song name "Maple Leaf Rag" made by Scott Joplin. Scott Joplin is a song writer and a pianist. He was born in November 24, 1868 and he died on April 1, 1917. Scott Joplin wrote a lot of song that are famous and one of the song is "Maple Leaf Rag". 

"Maple Leaf Rag", written by Scott Joplin, is an early ragtime music. The song was one of Scott Joplin's early works and became a standard model for ragtime composition by subsequent song writers. Perhaps that is why the song is one of the most famous of all ragtime.  

When I was in Korea, I heard some friends playing the piano playing this song. At that time I thought this was just a song that is made for a practice. Although now I know that this is the best ragtime song in the world and who made this exciting song.I appreciate this opportunity to learn these good songs and I except to learn many different american music in this class.

Hello! My name is Nam Hyouk Cho and I'm from South Korea. This year is my first year of SUU. I'm so excited to study here. Nice to meet you all. In my free time I usually hang out with friend's or play sports like soccer or etc. Also I listen to music and I like a lot of genre. So it is little bit complicate to introduce all of the singer and genre. So I want to introduce one of my favorite singer in Korea. Her name is Ben.  

Ben is a singer in South Korea. Ben debut at 2010 and first she start a singing career by a group name Bebe Mignon. Although this group break up at 2011 and Ben started to work as a solo singer. She makes lot of song for dramas ost song and compose a ballad and perform it. Ben is not as other K-pop girl singer. She is way shorter than other women singers and when she debut she was not popular. Although she worked hard and concentrated on her song. So now she is one of the most popular ballad singer in South Korea.
